I only attended White Station my Senior. But I had a good time there. I enjoyed being in class with Layle B. and Susan T. and BrendaP. Layle kept me laughing all day in Home Economics. I am a special education asst. for Memphis City School. However I am now pursue-ing degree in Early Childhood Education.I have been married for 30 years to a great man. I have 10 grandchildren. comment I really do exist! Graduated from Memphis State in 1975. Taught Kindergarten for 2 years. Left Memphis in 1981. No children, but many beloved cats along the way. comment I teach Driver Education with the Memphis City Schools after coaching for about twenty years. My wife, Frances, has taught school 39 years with the Memphis City Schools. I attended Lambuth University for a year and then on to the University of Colorado for three more years - fantastic place! comment I was one of your teachers! Girls' junior high PE, and guys, maybe even your homeroom teacher! I am so delighted that your class is getting together for your 40th! How is it possible? My own hight school class at David Lipscomb in Nashville just had a mini-reunion luncheon to celebrate our 47th. We couldn't believe that one, either! Congratulations and have a wonderful time! I have retired from teaching after 39 years! I live in Collierville, and I enjoy writing for regional and national publications about bluegrass/folk/and old-time string band events and performers. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with Viki Schwartz Poole and Laine Whitaker Ryder--two former students who became my co-workers. I have received the largest scholarship given by my school to obtain a music degree (yeah, I'm a college student, again!)... and I gotta keep my "all A's"! comment I'm a twelve year member having started in Ms. Wright's first grade class. Dick's photo brought back so many memories! I am married with two children and two yellow Labs, Shiloh and Hudson. (No grandkids yet.) My son, Seth, is an attorney in Minneapolis, and my daughter, Devon, is in grad school at the University of Chicago in her third year of the Economics PhD program. I am a legal assistant, working in my husband's law firm, but I also teach dog agility classes -- which is my preferred occupation. When not at the office, I work with and show my dogs, play tennis, bike, with an occasional swim thrown in there because I know I should. I still can't send an email without checking the grammar and punctuation -- something my children think is hysterical. Remember all those sentences we diagrammed? Old habits die hard! comment I attended WSHS for 3 years after coming over from Richland. I graduated from Memphis State School of Nursing and joined Lebonheur Children's Hospital. Since then I have been in various fields of nursing ending up in the operating room where I now work in an outpatient surgery center in Bethesda, MD. I was the Director of Surgery for many years, but decided to finish out my last few years as a staff nurse which I love. I get to go to work, do my job and not have to concern myself with the day-to-day issues. I am not married, have no children, but was in a 26 year relationship that ended 2 years ago. I love to travel. kayak, bird watch, hike and found the joy of digital photography even though I told my friends I would never make the switch. I am so sorry that I will not be attending our 40th, but I had prior plans that I must honor. Have one for me :-)

comment After many years of teaching, I have become Liz Newbell and am now teaching 8th grade American history at St. Mary's Episcopal School for Girls here in Memphis. In fact, I'm still living Act II of Our Town - married to my high school honey and living only one block from White Station. LaRose Todd (Coffey), my 11th grade English teacher, lives just around the corner and used to delight in regaling my daughters with stories of how their parents were once thrown out of her class for talking across the room. John is still up to his ears in politics, having advanced from managing student council races to being a co-campaign manager in the current Memphis mayor's race. (Vote for Herman Morris on Thursday!) Our daughters both attended White Station. They are both living in Washington, D.C. at present and we love having an excuse to go there often. John and I plan to attend the "pre-party" for the reunion at the Rendezvous and the early hours of the reunion itself. John's obligations as current chair of Opera Memphis require that we make an early exit for the opening performance of Turandot Saturday night. We look forward to catching up with everyone!

comment Hi, Friends! From 8th grade through graduation, my White Station years were the source of precious memories that still make me smile! Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion! I moved to Franklin, TN, seven years ago post divorce. Occasionally, I work for my daughter in her wholesale jewelry and accessories business, but mostly I still delight in being a homemaker, albeit for one. I have found a wonderful community theater home and am a frequent soloist in my church. Love to travel and am a new boat owner......got to play while I can!! My life has been so blessed since moving to Franklin....many wonderful friends and such a beautiful and gracious place to live. comment I attended White Station 9th - 12th grade. After graduating from the University of Texas, Austin, I moved to Houston to begin my teaching career. I have a Masters Degree in Education. In 2002, I was recognized in the book, Top Texas Teachers, as one of the top 35 teachers in Texas. We had been married 14 year when my husband lost his battle with cancer. Our son, Brian, is 26 year old and in his second year of law school at the University of Houston. We love to cook together, and our friends, who do not know how to cook, consider us gourmet cooks. I graduated from UT-Knoxville and completed graduate work at UT-Memphis, Center for Health Sciences. I am in the mental health field and have been for over 20 years. We have 2 girls one 36 yrs old Judy manages Mississippi Ranch Supply and Jennifer 25 went to Ole Miss met John Micheal Cannerdy a Geological Engineer and has been married for 5 years and lives in Jackson MS. Jennifer works for Farm Bureau. I have 4 horses TN Walkers and one draft horse Big Red and I mean BIG (1,800 lbs +) he is a love. I have mares and my daughter just brought her two stallions to stay registered paints. Now is this going to be fun or what. Any of you horse lovers out there know what I mean. I retired from nursing and now I work for RSI and design UL Fire Systems. I may be getting older but don't tell me I can't do something I will find a way if the damn breaks. comment I attended all twelve years at WSHS. For two decades, I have been married to Doug Daniel who is a retired USPS marketing director, was a Jefferson Award winner and Volunteer of the Year, active in the Suicide and Crisis Intervention Center (where we met as volunteers), Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Board, and on and on, a very giving, thoughtful man. (Just gave him Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree as a birthday gift because he is the tree in the story to a tee: devoted, kind, committed, unselfish.) We love to travel and have been all over the world but are happy as clams at our B & B: home, with our Bichon Frise, Jazzper (We both love jazz!). We belong to Hope Presbyterian Church. We lived in New Orleans for a couple of years before he retired where I worked at a psychiatric hospital, then after we moved back to Memphis, I got my counseling degree and have been in private practice for 15 years, treating adult individuals and couples, after having taught English, speech communication, and psychology and Continuing Education courses. I was one of the recipients of the 50 Women Who Make A Difference award in 1999. I actually ENJOY working out, taking classes like kickboxing, contrary to DREADING Mrs. Colson's gym class at WSHS Wish we could be here for the reunion, but Doug and I both are meeting our brothers for that weekend, he in Nashville and I'll be meeting my brother, Bob, at a Santa Fe spa.

comment 12yrs @ WS. I am Chief Engineer for KCUR the NPR radio station for Kansas City, MO. I was also CE for WNIU/WNIJ in Dekalb, IL. In addition I also was CE for KFDI Wichita KS, KBMR Bismark ND, and my first CE job was WMPS. I am happily married for 22 years to Holly. We have a daughter and 3 grandboys. The twins (Anthony and Nathan) will be 5 in November and Davy just turned 2 in August. They live 5 minutes away so we get to see them a lot. I have been a Ham radio Operator for 30 years. I still like to go camping. I run a mile every day.

comment I attended WSHS for 3 years starting in the 10th grade. I was a former Richland "Raider" (grades 4-9) as many of you are. I graduated from Memphis State (also with some of you) in 1971 and received my master's degree from there in 1980. I have had several careers through the years as a teacher, real esate agent and my most favorite one, stay at home Mom! I have 4 children, one daughter and three sons, and 2 wonderful grandchildren. At this time, I am still working full time in real estate sales. I plan to continue until all of my children have completed their education. (I have 2 in graduate school and 1 in medical school.) So who knows, maybe in a few years I will retire. I would love to see everyone in October, however, I will be out of town that week-end. I guess I will have to catch up with you all in 2017!

comment Attended 12 years. I have lived in Houston, Texas for the past 23 years. I am happily married to Deborah (my best friend and my former therapist's daughter). We have 3 beautiful boys. Joshua (age 22) who has graduated from Boston University, and is in investment banking, Brad (age 20) in his second year at Denver University and thoroughly enjoying skiing his way through school, and then there is "Max" age 3 and attending Mother's Day Out. Thank goodness, we don't have any grandkids yet! Oh, and I forgot to mention Marly, the wonder dog... our yellow lab, age 1 and weighing in at 80 lbs. I am in private practice as a Retina-Vitreous eye surgeon. Life is really good!! WOW.... 40 years, where did the time go? I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up.

comment My twin, brother, John and I started at WSHS in 1963, having recently moved down from the Chicago area. I joined the Mariner Girl Scout troop. We met at Second Pres. We all flew to Europe, for two weeks, in 1966. I studied piano at the renowned 'Dr. Counces's mansion ( part of Southwestern Music School) near Overton park, studying under Charles Mosby. I attended Memphis State, M.T.S.U., Southwestern and the College of Art. Oops, my studies were interrupted by a little baby girl, born 12/70. I got divorced, then married my present & permanent husband, John in 1976. We moved to Greenwich, CN for a few years, but the south kept calling to us. I worked 11 years for Memphis Public Library where I was in the graphics dept. and was the staff photographer. After that, I went on the road doing photography. I then settled into the antique business for the next ten years, when I finally retired from the White Church Antiques & Tearoom in Collierville. I have two grandaughters, both in high school in Cleveland, OH. My husband is from Paris TN. He's been a programmer analyst since 1970. He grows our vegetables and cans them! He is a superb cook, so I am blessed (and spoiled). We have four cats. We both love to read, albeit I only read non-fiction. I still play the piano, do photography, bird watching and feeding, flower gardening and work a few hours every other week at Wild Oats, taking inventory of their books/cds for Time Media, Inc. I use the money to donate to worthy causes, mostly to do with animals. Our mothers are both still here, both being in their early 90s! We hope to retire to the Smokey Mountains. We live at 4703 Princeton, and I used to live at 4763 Barfield. My life, truly, has been a cycle. Our house, a brick bungalow, was built in 1930. It was owned by Mr. Vescovo. He had a farm, and owned all the land around here. Vescoco street is one street west of us. We are members of the Avon Neighborhood Watch Group. My brother, John, lives in Santa Fe, NM. I am a member of Lindenwood Church.

comment Tom & I have been in the same home in Carrollton (suburb of Dallas) since 1983. He works out if our home as an independent sales rep. in the retail point of purchase hardware industry. I have been working part time as a substitute teacher for 5 years for the nearby Lewisville ISD, I teach line dancing for the City of Carrollton Parks & Rec. Dept., and sell wonderful health supplements for Mannatech(.com). I love reading about natural health products. It reinforces the truth that God made each of our bodies with the amazing ability to heal itself when it takes in the right substances, which are very hard to get in our diets these days. I have been line dancing for 5 years at our new local Senior Cente. (They lowered the age to 50 when the building was completed!) I have just started teaching one day a week & really enjoy it. I think about the WSHS cheerleading pom-pom routines sometimes when I'm dancing! What fun they were. I am still an animal lover, especially of cats. I have one who is now 16 and our 26 year daughter, Katie, who lives with us again, has one who is 4. I am so impressed by Barbara Sherman's success as a Vet. and animal helper! Our sons are both married. John is 31 and is just getting out of the Air Force. He has 4 children. Dave is 30 & just married a lovely nurse from Indiana he met in Nashville. He works for Dell there. comment I attended White Station grades 10-12. I attended Richland Junior High and Elementary prior to that. I have wonderful memories of the people from all thee schools. I am married with two daughters and two step sons. Both daughters are married and have children. My oldest daughter, Angela, and her husband have three daughters, fraternal twin 7 year old girls (Alyssa and Katy) and a 5 year old named Zoey. My other daughter, Bridget has identical twin 5 year old boys, Nicholas and Logan. Unfortunately Angela’s family lives in Washington State and Bridget’s lives in Southern California. In order to spend more time visiting the grandchildren and to travel more, I retired July 2005. I am a CPA and was CFO for Catholic Community Services of Southern n Arizona (Catholic Charities); Contrary to what my workaholic attorney husband, Greg, thought I have not been bored one second. In fact I seem to be busier than ever. I keep very busy with volunteer work and my two hobbies, bicycling and needlework (everything, from knitting, quilting and needlepoint). Bicycling is my favorite, hobby. In May and June, I joined a group of women 50+ to bicycle the length of the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Lake Itasca, Mn. Our six week trip was an experience of a life time. I made some wonderful friends and memories to last me a lifetime. Bicycling is a wonderful way to see local sites. My husband and I have taken numerous bicycling vacations around this county, Canada and Europe. We have biked in France, Italy and the Czech Republic.

comment I spent six years at WSHS. For me the highlight was the late Gene Crain, teacher and director. He has made an enormous positive difference throughout my life after high school. A business writer for most of my career, I am also a published poet and a mystery writer still in search of an agent or publisher. These days my family life focuses on parenting four teenagers. Our oldest child has just entered college but commutes from home. Unfortunately a nephew's wedding falls on the same weekend as the '67 reunion. I would love to be with you Have a great gathering. And please don't wait too long before the next one because I, for one, am aging fast (possibly related to the aforementioned stress of living with four teenagers.)

comment I attended White Station for 4 years. I was at Richland Jr. High before that, and sat in the trailers for elementary school at Richland. Martinez is a suburb of Augusta. Yes, I have been to the Masters and no you cannot get on the course unless you are a member, a pro, or work the Tournament!! I have worn many hats over these past years (as have most of us I guess). comment I attended WSHS for 3 years coming over from Richland Jr. High like so many others. After graduation, I attended Univ. of Tenn at Martin for 2 years then went to work for TWA as a flight attendant for several years being based in Chicago and Kansas City where I met and married my husband, Gary. We will soon be celebrating 33 wonderful years. I decided to "retire early" from the airline industry to stay home and raise our 3 children. David, 31, is a graduate of Texas Tech Univ. and is in sales and a project manager at my husband's company in the Chicago area. Shannon, 30, is a graduate of Iowa State in journalism. Shannon worked for the Kansas City Star, married a wonderful man she met in college and is now a stay at home mom to our precious 1 year old grandson living in North Carolina. Daniel, 24, is in his 2nd year of college after spending 4 years in the Navy with 2 tours in the Persian Gulf. He plans to go into an officer's program next year with a major in aviation and making a career as a naval aviator. Life is good, God is great!!! comment I transferred to WSHS from Camp LeJeune High School in North Carolina in my senior year - my first and only year in a "civilian" school and something of a landmark for me. After obtaining a BFA in Theatre, followed by a brief career as a professional actress and 2 years of graduate school in London, England, I married an artist and academician and inherited 2 brilliant step-children who are now grown, married, and pursuing careers in the arts. For the past 25 years I've worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis as a pediatric nurse practitioner, in hematology, infectious diseases - specifically pediatric HIV/AIDS - and now in hematologic malignancies. comment I attended White Station from the first grade through the 12th grade. I graduated from Memphis State Un. in 1971. I received a MA degree from Ole Miss in 1976 and a Specialist Degree at Ole Miss in 1978 while teaching school in Tupelo Ms. I taught Jr High Home Economics for 7 years and then High School Home Economics for 7 years. I developed a curriculum in which top boy athletes were main streamed into Home Economics at Tupelo High School. We had a blast and the program took off. During my teaching career I sponsored everything possible from cheerleaders to home coming court activities to Student Council and Jr Civitans. I truly loved teaching! I then got divorced and went to work for a food packaging company in sales for 6 years. Then landed a job in sales with a New York houseware company as National Sales Manager. I left there after 9 years to start my own company in 2002 with a partner in New York offering sales and marketing for European companies with in the houseware industry. I never think about retiring because I love traveling and selling. I have a daughter Mundy 36 and a granddaughter Montana 9. They both live in Olive Branch along with both my parents and my older sister Carol. My younger sister Dawn lives in Oakland TN. Living so close to my family in addition to my work keeps me very busy. I look forward to seeing everyone in October.

comment I'm a pulmonary critical care doc at Luther Midelfort, a Mayo Health System hospital and multispecialty group. I still love clinical medicine, but am doing more and more in the administrative/quality improvement arena. Shelley and I are now adjusting to an empty nest--Bianca, age 18, is a freshman in college. We would be happy to borrow a teenager for two or three hours to help us remember the downside of having a bright and irreverent kid at home. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in October. Aside from us guys now wearing slacks with cuffs that touch our shoes (instead of hovering four inches above them), I'm sure we haven't changed at all.

We lived around the country with Nationwide spending 20 years in 3 locations in PA. Since retirement, we've relocated to Mt. Juliet, Tn(Nashville suburb) to be close to our two kids, Beth 32 and Ben 28. We live 2 blocks from Beth and her husband and our two grandkids, Tyler 3 and Nathan 6 months. comment Greetings from Asheville, NC. After a degree in Architecture at Auburn University I was fortunate to settle in Asheville, N.C. Happily married the past 30 years to Connie, an assistant principal at Enka HS., we have two sons, Thomas (24) in Park City, Utah and William (22) in La Jolla, Ca. Connie and I (along w/ Izzy our yellow lab) live on a mountain above the Grove Park Inn looking out over Asheville and the surrounding mountains. In Asheville we enjoy a diverse small city life as well as the black bears, wild turkeys, and hawks that visit our property. I'm recently widowed, however, I have a stepdaughter just 8 years my junior, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. I'm a National Tournament Director with the American Contract Bridge League headquartered in Memphis. I've done this job for 31 years - as a matter of fact, that's how I met my husband, who, coincidentally was named Johnson. comment     I attended WSHS for 3 years-10th, 11th, &12th grades. Went to U of Memphis 1 year, then became a flight attendant for Southern Airways which is now Norhtwest. I married an airline pilot and was divorced after 11 years. We had 2 boys and I raised a stepdaughter. My oldest son has made me a grandmother 2 times. I have 2 beautiful grandaughters...1 almost 17, and the other almost 2. It took me 15 years to get the second one and now,get this, another one is on the way. My oldest son will be leaving in a few days for Afghanistan. My youngest son decided to go back to school to become a pharmacist. He is at UT Knoxville. comment Eight years at White Station. It's great to read these bios, so here's mine. Bea and I are looking forward to our 25th anniversary next May. Our son Jon is 23, a college grad and off the payroll (at least for now). Becca is only 16 (what the heck where we thinking about). Comment I attended White Station for 6 years; 7th through 12th grades.Since 1978, I've been living in Greenfield, MA, a small New England town of 18,000. I fell in love with this part of the country after visiting some college friends who live in Southern Vermont. I am close to Boston (1 1/2 hrs.) and NYC (3 hrs.) yet live in the beautiful, rural Connecticut River Valley, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mtns. Cape Cod and the Maine Coast are both within a 3 hr. drive. The area is home to five colleges and is vibrantly alive with a wide array of the arts and entertainment. We have four wonderfully distinct seasons that draw visitors from around the world.

I am a Construction Project Manager, working for a general contractor in the area. My home is a small Cape that was built in 1880; renovating it is one of my "hobbies".

I have two wonderful kids, who are both in college. Anna, 25, is in her second year of graduate school at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. She is working on her master's degree in Deaf Education. Christopher, 22, is a senor at USC in Los Angeles. He is in the Cinematic Arts Critical Studies Program. Being their parent is the best thing that ever happened to me!

Hello to All, I attended W.S. 3-12. 3rd grade I spent most of Mrs. Mashburn's class standing in the corner for not saying "Yes, Ma'm" & No, Ma'm" & most recesses defending my "Yankee" Honor (ya'l were rough on this skinny Ohioian) I've been blissfully single for the past 9 yrs. 2 great kids, daughter, Aubrey (soon to be 27), son Wes 23, granddaughter Ava, 3 1/2 & 1 "in the oven", and a great black Lab. I guess I consider myself semi-retired (a farmer never really retires), extremely fortunate to be here, on my little piece of Earth, living the "country life"! (Love the life, but the music never "took hold", am still an old rocker & a big fan of the "blues") I don't consider myself a "biker" but I did just get a HD '07 Screamin' Eagle Softail Springer & also ride an '03 Lowrider. Comment I attended White Station from 1963-1967. I have a Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology. I have worked at the University of Louisville (faculty), Saint Louis University (Chair and Dean of Arts and Sciences), SUNY College at Buffalo (Dean of Applied Science and Education), Cleveland State University (Dean of Arts and Sciences) and am now at the University of Alabama as Professor, Chair and Clinic Director of the Communicative Disorders Department. (ROLL TIDE) My father is still living in the same house where I grew up and where I lived when I went to White Station. My Sister and her husband live about a mile from dad. My mother and brother died in 1988 and 1993 respectively. I have a niece who is married and has a 3 year old daughter and 6 month old twin boys who live in Memphis. I have a nephew who is married and has three girls, 8, 6, and 6 months and live in Atlanta. We all get together at my house at least 6 times a year for all Alabama home football games. Fifteen folks, 9 adults and 6 children pile in and we the time of our lives...even more so if Alabama wins! I have become a woodworker in my old age. I make furniture! Come to Tuscaloosa and check it out! I have made a sofa table, a side table, a toy box, a mah jongg table, a bookcase that won't topple over for one of my nieces, a piano bench, and a room divider. My next project will be to make built in bookcases for my study at home. For some of you, you will find this unbelievable. When our rabbi at our Temple is out of town, I am the lay rabbi! Comment After attending WS from 1963-67. I graduated from U of M and went to work at Baptist Hospital as the Medical Librarian. After a number of years there I was plucked to do what I was always meant to do, Sales!!! Who knew I was such a natural and excelled for over 10 yrs. However, polio caught up with me again and I developed post-polio syndrome (interesting only to those dinosaurs that are affected). But as an effect, I had to take an early retirement, which I recommend highly. It actually gives you the time to do all those things you meant to do, hobbies, volunteer work, etc. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and what they have been up to. See you in October.

Then I got a degree in English literature and taught college briefly but have worked mostly as a writer in environmental consulting firms. Comment There was a period in my life when I was extremely sensible. I am over it now. From that period, I have an MBA, but I use it only in emergencies. After several business ventures, including running nursing homes and a gem and mineral shop, I have become one of the things I wanted to be when I was young—a writer. I am very involved with Alzheimer’s right now—I wrote a book chronicling my journey with my mom through her Alzheimer’s and am using the proceeds of the book to raise money for Alzheimer’s programs and research. Comment Following graduation, I attended UT-Knoxville and MSU. After graduating in 1970 with a BSEd, I taught high school English and social studies for 8 years. During that time I also obtained an MA in Broadcasting and Film at MSU and immediately went into production--giving birth to 3 children. I returned to graduate school to get a more funtional masters and am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. After a marriage of 27 years, I got a divorce and have since moved to Richmond, VA where I live with my fiance Ben Kutner. In 2003 I accompanied my daughter to Kazakhstan where she adopted a wonderful little girl. This June she plans to expand her family by returning to Kazakhstan to adopt another daughter.
